The Camping Village Casa dei Prati is in a quiet and peaceful area, overlooking the beautiful Gulf of Lacona and its famous, sandy beach, without a doubt one of the longest on the Island of Elba. The sea is crystal … clear, and is shallow till quite far out, so it is perfect for families with small children. There are two smaller, but equally fascinating, beaches inside the gulf - Laconella and Margidore: the former is sandy, and has unique inlets to be found nowhere else, the latter is a pebble beach that also has a tiny port for small boats. Not only is Lacona very popular among tourists as a starting place for excursions, with many itineraries in the heart of the lush, Mediterranean scrub from where the view is breathtaking; being also in the centre of the island, it is not far from the main towns like Capoliveri, Porto Azzurro and Marina di Campo as well as the most popular beaches. Alongside the camp-site: APARTMENTS: for holiday, fully furnisched with 1-2-3 bedrooms, living-room with a cooking area, bathroom, terrace and TV led. You can reach the island of Elba by car where on arrival to Piombino, some different shipping companies (Toremar , Moby Lines) offer comfortable ferry services that during the tourist season navigate hourly,on a daily basis. In only one hour … circa, the ferries cover the 10Km distance from the mainland arriving in a chioce of ports; Portoferraio, Porto Azzurro, Rio Marina. For passengers without cars, a Hydrofoil service operates from Piombino to Portoferraio (Via Cavo ) in only 35 mins. of navigation. Elba is also reachable by plane, there is an airport in Marina di Campo, La Pila location, from which are active connections with numerous Italian and European cities. Lacona can be reached by car from Portoferraio in about 10 minutes. Once you leave the ferryboat, go on following the indications "Tutte le direzioni" (All directions) and then "Porto Azzurro". Now you can follow two possible ways: from San Giovanni, turn right, where the signals indicate Lacona , or go on towards Porto Azzurro/Capoliveri and then turn right at the following cross-roads, after few kilometres . Or simply click the following coordinates into your Sat Nav: 42° 45' 55,38" N - 10° 18' 50,80" E.
